ABOUT THE BOOK
Ladies, if you are reading this book today, it is because you are choosing to be wise and learn from my mistakes. I commend you for taking the first step toward the healing process.
In this book you will find several tools that can help you work toward the healing process, if you choose to follow them. I want to set expectations from the beginning. Let’s not kid ourselves; many marriages are difficult, especially when you have two broken people living in a broken world. Oftentimes we are two very different broken people living in a broken world. Add alcoholism to the equation, and that makes our marriage even more difficult.
The second issue that makes changing our marriage more difficult is that most likely, your husband has taken years to become an alcoholic. It did not happen overnight, and he’s not going to kick the habit overnight either. You also have taken years to become the person you are today, and you also are not going to change overnight.
The biggest tool you will find throughout this book is grace—grace for your husband, and grace for yourself. You will stumble, you will fall, and you will fail, but if you give yourself grace and strive to be better today than you were yesterday, and to be better tomorrow than you were today, this book can help you.
